Mega Wheel: How to Play and the Mega Lucky Number
Mega Wheel is Pragmatic Play's original live game show, built around a large, multi-coloured wheel with 54 numbered segments. Before each spin you bet on one or more numbers. One symbol is also picked at random as the Mega Lucky Number and given an extra multiplier. The presenter spins the wheel, and if the pointer stops on your number you are paid according to that number's multiplier. If your number is also the Mega Lucky Number, the win grows further.
The rules, step by step
- Place your bets. While the timer runs, put chips on one or more numbers. You can cover several numbers in the same round.
- The Mega Lucky Number is drawn. One symbol is chosen at random and given a random Mega Multiplier.
- The wheel spins. The presenter spins it and it slows down until the pointer settles on one segment.
- Wins are paid. Winning bets are paid according to the multiplier of the winning symbol. The full payout table is in the game's help screen.
There is no separate bonus round. Everything happens on the main wheel, which keeps rounds short and easy to follow.
How the numbers and segments relate
The wheel has 54 segments, but they are not shared equally. Low numbers take up many segments and land often; high numbers take up few and land rarely. That is the core trade-off of the game: the numbers that pay most are the ones you see least. The game's help screen lists how many segments each number has.
Our own results reflect that shape clearly (see below), but recorded shares are not the same as the official segment count, and you should not treat them as a substitute for it.
The Mega Lucky Number in depth
The Mega Lucky Number is what makes Mega Wheel more than a simple money wheel. In each round one symbol receives a random Mega Multiplier on top of its normal payout. Pragmatic Play states that this feature is how wins of up to 500x the bet become possible.
A few points help keep it in perspective:
- The Mega Lucky Number is chosen at random each round. It does not follow the previous round's choice.
- The feature only matters if the wheel actually stops on that symbol and you have a bet on it.
- The size of the Mega Multiplier is also random. The game's help screen shows which values it can take.
If you would like a refresher on how a multiplier turns into a payout, our explainer Multipliers in Live Casino Games Explained covers it with examples.
RTP and house edge
Return to player (RTP) is the share of stakes a game is designed to return over a very long run; the remainder is the house edge. Pragmatic Play's public Mega Wheel page does not list RTP. Check the help screen at your casino before you play.
RTP is a long-term average. It does not describe what will happen in one session, and in a game where the largest results are rare, short sessions can vary a great deal.
What our data shows
In the 24 hours to 15 October 2026 we recorded 1,815 Mega Wheel rounds. The results were spread like this:
- 1: 37.4%
- 2: 23.7%
- 5: 13.0%
- 10: 8.0%
- 8: 7.3%
- 15: 3.4%
- 20: 3.3%
- 30: 2.2%
These shares add up to 98.3%; the remaining rounds were other results. The highest multiplier we recorded in that window was 500x, which matches the maximum Pragmatic Play quotes. The overall shape is what you would expect from the description: the low numbers dominate and the high numbers are rare. Recent spins and longer windows are on the Mega Wheel page.
Common misconceptions
"30 has not landed for a long time, so it is close." That is the gambler's fallacy. Every spin is independent. A number that has been absent for 200 spins has the same chance on the next spin as it always does.
"I should follow the Mega Lucky Number." Its position is random each round. Past Mega Lucky Numbers give no information about the next one.
"Covering many numbers means I cannot lose." Covering more numbers raises your chance of a win in a round, but your total stake rises too. The house edge applies to every chip on the table.

Before you play
Decide in advance how much you are prepared to spend and how long you want to play. The occasional large result is what draws people to Mega Wheel, and it is also why sessions can run longer than planned. Our guide Setting Limits: A Practical Guide to Safer Play explains simple ways to set limits.
